Nothing wrong with the routine your using as you can easily tell you've added some real muscle. The obvious problem is your diet, you put on as much fat as you did muscle so your really going to have to adjust your meal plan.

Bill Starr 5x5 is a great routine you'll do well on it. Up your cardio levels and clean up your diet and you'll be much happier with your results. Take some time and read the stickies in the nutrition section.

Bulk doesn't mean it's a fat free for all..lol. Do moderate cardio 3x a week and figure out your exact daily macro's and make the adjustment's you need. Look into HIT cardio, it will help you retain your muscle while you shed the excess fat.

Nice.

So cardio on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday would be good. Is HIT different from HIIT?

Also anything to help review my Macro's?

Thanks alot man...you're really helpful and cool.

Also just to let you know. The Bill Starr Routine Im running is the original one, not the madcow or anything.

Also should I use a calculator to estimate my calorical/protein intake or can you suggest something that is common?

Thanks, how can I not help a fellow hockey fan? You need a calculator but my fellow mod and extra helpful guy EME has a simple to use one on his site that he created. Just plug in your stat's and it will give you everything.

Go to the bottom right of the page and click on BMR, caloric need and macro calculator.

Your at that point where you could do either. Your not super fat where it's an absolute must to cut and the added muscle will certainly help with future fat burn. I would continue adding mass (not bulking just to add weight to the scale) and make the adjustment's you need to slowly drop the fat while you put on more size.

You should do a clean bulk and take a good hard look at your diet. Whatever you did wrong during the past 5 months should be corrected this time around. In fact, post the diet you followed during that time period.

You could try a timed- carb diet. When carbs aren't being used, the are stored as glycogen or fat. so if you don't eat carbs when you don't need them, you won't put on that excess fat. idk just a random thought.
