I hate the way people who don't eat sushi look at me.

Even when they are not giving me funny looks, I know they think less of me, or look down on me cause I eat raw fish.

It doesn't matter how hard you train, how many rolls you eat, how dedicated you are to your salmon, ahi tuna, or unagi. It does not matter if you helped write the book on sushi.

The truth is, if you are even the slightest bit of a sushi fan you WILL be looked down upon. You WILL be labeled as somehow gross, disgusting, and/or not having good taste in food. The only people that will even begin to understand you are other sushi fans who have gone through the same ordeals.

It's a *****ed up world for people who are genetically addicted to suhi. We are constantly accused and slandered that it is our own fault, and that you can't be genetically predisposed to be addicted to sushi. People who are naturally not addicted to sushi are 100% completely not understanding, and somehow have the gall to put themselves on a throne of dominance when they interact with someone who's addicted to suhi.

I've seen it when I was eating a super dragon roll, I see it today when I eat sashimi salmon after almost 3 years of eating sushi. I see it in myself, I see it around me, and I see other people experience it every day. I've seen the social rejection both first hand and from a distance.

It really just makes me sick. What makes me even more sick is that it's reality. That's just the way it is. There is no changing it.

This does not have to do with me, this has to do with all of "us". My sushimorphic brothers who truly have mountains to move to get to a respectable sushi restaurant. If you guys find yourselves in Atlanta, there are 3 places to check out.

First, the building I work at has this new restraunt downstairs called 'Thrive' ( THRIVE RESTAURANT, ATLANTA ). The food is AMAZING. They have this one roll called the 'DL Special' (not down low you pervs):

Spicy Tuna, Spicy Yellowtail, Cream Cheese, Avocado, Spicy Kewpie Sauce, Teriyaki Sauce

This placed called 'Ru-San's' has about the most diverse sushi menu on earth. I don't recommend the 'protein bomb' (that is the actual name) - the menu was so large I couldn't figure out what to get, so I ordered something that seemed appropriate. I couldn't get through it all. Too much sushi!

Aloha Asian Bistro & Sushi

Has some of the best asian 'fusion' type food you've ever had.

'mock' means to "mimic, either in sport or derision". Mocking doesn't have to be an attack. This thread is not meant to belittle you or deride you. The world is not out to get you. Food for thought.... I didn't become irate when you said that I have the gall to put myself on a throne of dominance when I interact with someone who's overweight, even though that's untrue... I just moved on.
