Default went to ozzfest yesterday at the PNC Bank

so friggin hot. the temp reached 102 degrees F. standing on black asphault for half of the time did not help. i thought my sneakers were going to melt. unfortunately i missed three bands that i wanted to see (bury your dead, a dozen furies and mastadon). I heard Mastadon finishing their set when i got in and they were loud as hell. One of the loudest bands I ever heard. my friend works security there and told me that 40 people had to be taken away from the show the day before because of the heat. i saw a few people being taken away in wheelchairs. it was brutal. As I Lay Dying put on the best show imo on the second stage followed by Rob Zombie. In Flames was given a 20 minute set on the main stage and they definately did not get the credit they deserve. Black Label bored me, but I never really judge a performance solely on one of these big venues. Shadows Fall was kind of boring in the beginning of their set but then they picked up and finished nicely. Then the rain came and the rain brought the mud. The mud brought the pits in the general admission section. Mudvayne had a decent set. Sabbath didnt perform, because Ozzy was sick, probably hung over from the night before. Iron Maiden took the headlining spot but we left half way through. I can say the sun and heat definately kicked my ass. I have the worst sunburn right now, but thats the price you gotta pay.

That's too bad. I was thinking of going to one of the 2 shows they were gonna play around here, but I figured **** it. Concerts sound like crap anyways.

What axes did Zakk play? I think he's been playing the guitar Dimebag gave him more frequently now.

i saw metallica twice. once in 96 and again in 98 (i think it was). surprisingly, all they played were songs off their old albums even back to kill em all. i dont meant to rub it in, but they were really good live.

Went to both. Saw Iron Maiden 2x in the 80's and Metallica last year when they did their longest show on the tour here in Edmonton. The crowd was off the hook!
