Stupid Dell

My video card has been actin up lately so I told one of my friends that and he let me borrow his AGP Raveon card. I do have AGP for my computer as well.

So I take off the cover of my tower and look to put in the chip and my tower doesn't have an AGP connecter to hook it in there.

I was wondering dell computers have this as an accessory or if I have to buy it or did they just make a mistake?

are you using an on-board graphics card? If so you may be shit out of luck.

Can you locate the current graphics card in your tower?

Give me the model number of the Dell, and I can help you out a bit.

Chances are you don't have an AGP slot for the card.

or do you mean thers no power supply connection for the card?

Most Dell's have an onboard graphics card, in otherword's your most likely S.O.L.

My Dell is 4-5 years old... it has no AGP slot. I ended up getting a PCI video card, which although is not as good as AGP, was certainly better than the on-board graphics card it came with. I can watch DVD's fine on my comp, which is the only thing I would need a graphics card for.

thats an onboard card. Chances are you don't have an AGP slot. Open the case and look at the PCI slots. Do you see a brown slot or so near the CPU side of the PCI slots? If not chances are you DO NOT have an AGP slot.

Comparison

AGP is brown, short, and further back, PCI is whitish, longer, and closer to the edge of the case.
