SAT Scores?

I'm just curious as to what is viewed as a "decent" score on the new SATs?

I just took a practice one (they said it's supposed to be close to the one they took last year... I did it essay and all... it's a 3 1/2 hour timed test!! :crazy1: ) and scored a 1740/2400. Would this be considered a "decent" SAT score?

P.S. The reason I took it is because I'm doing the Kaplan online SAT improvement class thingy mabobber.

If you do the math, you got a 73% which is really good for an SAT score. I mean, yeh, IMO it's above decent especially since it's the new one.

Just curious - I took the old SATs, so I have no idea how the new ones work. So 2400 is the new perfect score? Is it still math and verbal? But an essay?

Been almost 20 years since I took that sucker.

Your right ZackMurphy. One essay worth 800, and then math and reading both are worth 800.

My school, for seniors and juniors, they don't count the essay part since it's new. My school starts doing the essays around 2008

Just do the math...

your score over top score=x over 100

And I guess over 70% is good?

Beats me.

I know that IF this test is proportional to the old test, I would have score an 1100ish which sucks IMO.

a 1600 is the new 1200 so a 1600 and above is a good score
