Default Quit my job

Yeah, been there over a year now and have never felt the bliss of getting a raise. They cut me down to 2/3 days a week aanndd my manager was talking some pretty "nice" things about me behind my back.

So, walked in 5 mins before my shift today and told them that I was done, it was OK since we were overstaffed for the night anyway so they aren't hurting none.

Manager said that I was an "unmotivated employee" and I deserved to be fired for "the shit that he does". Put me over the edge ... just really, really, really tired of putting groceries in a bag and dealing with old people. Pushing carts in the snow is really, really, really not worth $5.40 an hour either.

under 18 so i'm allowed 85% of minimum wage ... national minimum is only $5.15, Michigans is $6.95 but since I'm under 18 I get shorted...

I take that back, I get $5.91, looked at a checkstub from October not recently.

same here, just a real bad time to try finding a construction job. not to mention OSHA requires you to be 18 to work w/ power tools ...

so, goes out to ANYONE across 'da country ... know of a job, I'm down for it. prefer rough carpentry construction, drywall, or cabinet construction.

My advice would be to keep your eyes open for opportunites for a good job. Try farm work.

Should give you even more drive to further that education so you can come back and have someone else bag your groceries

Good luck finding another job though. It's a lot easier to stay motivated if you do something you like or at least know your work has an effect at the end of the day.

Already told ya bro they are dying for people here in Alberta. It's got everything you love and you'll be a VERY rich guy if you go into those trades here.

They're dieng for people in South Dakota and I can at least race there ... I watched one of y'alls CASCAR races the other day, talk about BORING.

Still requires to be 18 for most any construction type work ... what I want to do more than anything is build houses, from foundation up (Framing, roof systems & trusses, siding ...).

Naw man, I ain't college material ... me and typical classrooms don't get along. Only place I might even consider would be UTI or Univ N.E. Ohio (Lima) for their high performance engines program.

I got fired forom one of the best jobs around these parts.
Either cause i'm a 'racist' or cause i've yelled at the supervisor ever day for being an idiot.

i could machine anything in that shop. learned from nothing, to being one of the best in that shop in under 6 months.

i could do alot, just couldnt fix stupid.

If you're into being a mechanic, carpenter, electrician etc it still requires continued education at some point to get ahead. Coming from a long line of tradesmen I can say it isn't what it used to be. Look to advance in any form that is offered because you'll never know what you'll end up needing later on.

Best advice I can give
