Default Is it possible to:

Generate enough electricity pedaling a bike to actually propel the bike, using no other type of fuel? I know there are mopeds, but those use gas still.

Do moped scooters go fast? I see they can be registered with the dmv. Can you go on a highway with a nice scooter? Some claim speeds 'up to' 60mph

wow, look at this
X-Treme XM-2000 Electric Moped Scooter

A completely electric scooter that will do 45-50mph. Too bad it's not fast enough for a busy highway.

Hush now. I'm thinking it would be an inexpensive alternative to a car. My car broke, it's expensive to fix, and I have travel needs. If you see me riding around on a moter scooter you can pretend to not know me. I understand.

I'd say an eighth of the people down who live down here (and the tourists) use scooters to get around, their MUCH easier on gas than cars are and the highest speed limit on US 1 in the lower Keys is only like 55.

Not to mention everyone down here is loaded and when they get tired of them they're on every street corner in mint condition for like 500 dollars.

NNTB, didn't you say you live in the keys? I remember there being scooter rental places over down there. They aren't quite as popular up in Albany I've seen them in the summer here, but not in the winter.

Yep... like 15 mins from Key West. There are rental places everywhere down here... but seeing as how winter down here means 70 degrees its a much different situation as it might be difficult/dangerous maneuvering a scooter on the highway in New York in the snow. lol
