mp3 players

I'm in the market for an mp3 player and for a long time thought I would only get an ipod, but the prices haven't dropped enough for what I think is reasonable so I'm considering other options. Those of you guys who have mp3 players, what do you have? I'm looking for at least a 20GB model. Here's a Sony 20GB that is listed currently for just under $200:

If your wanting a cheap good mp3 player, get the iPod Shuffle. It's $100 carries 120 songs, with a 10-20 dollar upgrade carries 200+ mp3's.

Only bad thing is no screen, but it's really good for workouts.

Just set it on Shuffle and go... Tell us what you get when you make your decision.

I'm really looking for something with a screen and at least 20GB. That Sony model has both. I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on something like that.

Still $269. Honestly, how does the Sony compare to the ipod? I'm just looking to put music I already have on CDs on the thing, not download a bunch of stuff.

One thing I noitced and kinda chuckle at ... mainly from being involved with guns most of my life, Leupold is the best scope on the market, best quality -- period.

You never hear someone say "My Leupold is as good as a Nikon". Same thing, you don't hear someone say "My iPod is as good as your Sony" -- it's "My Sony is as good as your iPod".

LOL, true. I'm just trying to find the best deal. I honestly don't care what the brand name is as long as it does what I want it to. The Sony is supposed to be pretty light as well, which is a plus for me. How do you think the Sony stacks up to the ipod honestly?

If I were going out and buying one, I wouln't fuss much over price and get what I want specifically. I'm sure the Sony is good, and I'm sure it can do everything the iPod could ... but I know Apple has great customer service -- reason being.

My buddy dropped his iPod in a toilet, Apple replaced it. This is a year and a half after he bought it.

Sony is also known for customer service, but I guess I should just stick with the ipod. I'm not buying it for another month or so, just doing some research now.

I have an Ipod shuffle which I got for free through my last job, the only thing I bought was an arm band thing for workouts off Ebay which set me back a whole $8. But it does the trick however it is a hassle not having a screen. That Sony one looks sweet although it doesn't have a blue colored screen

I have a Creative NuVo fm sport. Great for the gym, comes with the arm band, easy to use, looks good, has the screen etc... If you feel like a change you can listen to all your favorite radio stations. It's inexpensive also which is a plus. Downside is less songs then some of the bigger units but to be honest having 1000's of songs is waste of time IMHO. Also the headphones that come with it are average at best.

Keep in mind that I am a musician by trade. I want to shove as much of my music on this thing as possible.
