The larger the caliber the further the bullet can travel accurately. Also the .50 cal was designed to punch through walls and armor to hit their targets. Not pretty, but dead is dead clean or not your not going to know the difference when your hit. And ya the second vid makes me want to own one of those bad boys.

To give you an idea of how fast that gatling gun is firing.... the tracers are every 5th round..

If they had a tracer on every round it would look like a lazer beam ..

Anyway since we are on the subject of fire power here is a cool video I stumbled across yesterday....

They should put these things to work in Iraq.. on roads where road side bombs are a problem...

Awesome, I read and watched all the vids of this weapon about 2 years ago. Look's like they've expanded it's uses and made some improvements. The problem with this gun/shell launcher is how can they reload 16 million rounds a min? Anyway thanks for the cool movie bro.

the snipers can be further away... but the further away the more powerful the weapon has to be...

thats a damn good question. btu if its on auto, it doesnt have to shoot for a minute straight. it could just do 1/2 second burst until the target cant be seen by it

I think the point is not actually firing 16 million rounds over the corse of a minute as it is that that bad boy, can put 1000 rounds on a target area in a split second..

Barrett. uses a .50 cal machine gun round. in Afgahnistan a Canadian sniper team took out two insurgent machine gun nests from 2200-2300 meters away. Seen it in use on Discovery Channels "Future Weapons"
