Default Lol, weird situation made my parents more comfortable with me drinking whey.

So yesterday my grandparents come over and we go to a buffet. I load up on chicken and cheese perogies and after I get home I start filling a shaker with whey because I'm gonna use all that food and go lift legs immediately.

My grandma looks at the container and she says "Is that whey? As in from cheese?". I tell her that it is and it's just flavored to taste better but it's really healthy. Then she goes on to explain how when she was young they didn't throw anything out so they'd ALWAYS strain off the whey from milk/cheese and eat the whey even though it was gross. She agreed it was very healthy.

Now if only this could happen to all the kids who's parents won't let them use this dangerous anabolic known as whey protein!

If you want to use whey, that is your personal decision. I would personally remain a natural athlete, and not need assistance to reach around and wipe my own butt.

I hear ronnie may have been taking whey in the two weeks preceeding the last olympia, it will be interesting to see how it pans out, and if he'll keep his title and pro card or not.

Wait do people actually not let their kids drink whey protein shakes? Good grief, get a clue...

My parents haven't questioned what I take at all except when I started taking ephedrine from the nasal congestant bottles instead of some random under the counter bottle.

:rock2: is what you should have done, except with a whole raw fish. Then be like "Its either that thing or pills, which would you pick?"

When I was in high school my folks didn't want me to take creatine, which at that point was reasonable since I didn't really know anything about it.

I've talked to my dad about IGF and the designer steroids that are around now, and he was just like "oh ok, be safe." He's a doctor so he knows that steroids can be used safely if you're not careless. Hell he even volunteered one of his colleagues to do bloodwork for me. :nosthumbs

I am going to start banning members who I find out are using Whey.

We don't need that sort of radical and reckless abandonment here from any of our members.

Whey protein should be illegal.

My parents sure hated me using it at first. Now I still don't think they LIKE it, but they accept it.

It's either that, or they've turned their attention to the fact Im now using some sort of product called "Xtend", produced by some company that sounds like it's in the business of creating performance enhancing drugs.

When I first got it, mum asked me if it was steroids. And threatened that if it was I wouldn't be welcome in this house anymore. "If you will do something so reckless to your body you're too dangerous to live here" were her words. ROFL

Then I explained to her what it was, and gave her links to information on it... she's now pretty sure it isn't steroids, but still doesn't like me using it :P

Wow! Some of you kids got some seriously jacked up parents. Man, I've been treated like an adult all my life. Got my first supplements in 10th grade and good ole mommy paid for them (whey, vitamins, Promax bars, methoxy ). When I was 18, I did a transdermal cycle of 1T/4AD. My mom was all into it. We'd sit down and talk about steroids and how they work and media hype, blah blah. Although today I wish I'd not done it, it was an overal good experience.

It's good when parents are smart and open minded. It's good when they talk things through and look at the facts. Children end up smarter that way.

LOL,

Yeah, my Mom bought my Weider Dynamic Muscle Builder Protein for me every couple weeks when I was in High School.

She was actually the one who encouraged me to start lifting weights, and she even bought a home weight set and bench for me to start with.

My parents were always supportive. I guess I didn't know how good I had it!

The best baby formulas are even made with 100% Whey Protein now!
You can bet our baby will be drinking this! :bigthumbu

The Whey Protein Difference

Just like moms, Nestlé goes to extra lengths for babies. Knowing that all babies' digestive systems are still developing during their first year, Nestlé uses a patented process to create a formula to be gentle on your baby's tummy.

The key to that gentle formula is choosing the right protein from the very start. That's why our GOOD START SUPREME milk-based formulas are made with 100% whey protein, based on several different measures of protein quality. Unlike the protein in other routine formulas, the gentle whey protein in GOOD START SUPREME does not form curds in babies' developing tummies.

Also, clinical evidence has shown that formula made with 100% whey protein empties from babies' stomachs faster than other routine formulas, which may help reduce the potential for reflux, or spitting up.

But it's the diaper that tells the story best. The stools of babies on formulas with higher whey content tend to be softer, like those of breastfed babies. Babies fed GOOD START SUPREME milk-based formulas may be more likely to have stool patterns similar to breastfed babies.
