Default If you won $1,000,000 after taxes in the lottery, how would you spend it?

I would spend 300,000 on opening a computer and software store complete with an internet cafe, computer consulting, full in home repair services, and 'lan parties' (video game competitions) for prizes. (300k would include initial operating costs for several months to a year)

I would spend 20,000 on a good car, and set aside another 30,000 grand in a seperate checking account to cover all car related expenses (including gas + insurance).

I would continue living where I live now and set aside enough money to pay my rent for 10 years

I'd make sure my gym membership is up to date, and restock my supplement cabinet. (perhaps in bulk )

I'd put aside food money, maybe 5 grand.

Then i'd take the left over money (between 500,000 and 600,000), and split it up into rolling savings accounts. Preferabely between seperate banks.

What would YOU do with a million dollars?

I'd spend a some of it on security. The rest, I am not sure. Other than a year's supply of supplements and complete my home gym.

Untill I decided what to do with it, I'd keep it all in the bank and live off the interest for a while, spending it on rent, supps, food and the usual crap.

I'd buy a place in the south of France, and maybe a house in Canada. After that, I'd continue to just live off interest if I could while keeping the bulk in the bank.

Pay off my parent's home.

Buy dad a fully restored 500hp 1978 Trans Am.

Buy the house next to my grandparent's, blow it up, and build a tropical greenhouse for all their birds and plants.

Pay back my parent's for college and pay off the remaining 4 years.

Purchase myself a house, muscle car(s), and my girlfriend some car(s).

Invest a couple hundred thousand in gold coins and very low risk stocks.

Help by investing in a early childhood education center for my girlfriend (she's a teacher). That will bring back 10x what I invest in short amount of time.

And last.......buy a badass engagement ring

After I graduate from college I'll pull in probably $70k+ each my first couple years. With the investments I made in coins and stocks I'd be a pretty wealthy person.

LOL yeah, I'd probably treat myself to some expensive Russian prostitutes too, just for the hell of it.

Bad idea - skip the Russians and go straight to the Czech girls (You'll thank me later)!

I would invest 900,000 in property - best place to put your money, as far as I'm concerned. With 100,000 I would buy some nice guns, a car, and any other imaginable thing I saw.

Then I would join the Army Special Forces.

Dream Kill: You're forgetting the massive amounts of property tax youd be paying. You'd have to put away a hundred bills just to pay the taxes for a few years.

Rental property would be good.. I don't think now is a great time to buy though. Once the interest rates go back up, and they will. property values are going to drop fast.

I think I would buy an already sucessful business, one where I could make the million back in a few years.

Realistic: I'd put it all in the bank and grow some interest while I'm growing muscles

Fantasy: I'd buy my own city where I'd hire everybody to relive the 80's...the music, TV, movies, fashion....EVERYTHING!

After college I'll be successful, why try to be something I'm not? If I'm not having fun then life just sucks.

Mine would bring in a steady income of $150,000 - $200,000 a year that I could enjoy for years to come. and in 5 years I will have the million back and 5 years later I will have earned another million. Which I will have spent along the way going on vacations, buying some sweet cars, boats, motorcycles, living in a nice house, etc.

Oh man..

Finish fully restoring my 1971 Pontiac Ventura. She's my baby that I can't afford to take care of anymore Then I'd redneck-up my '05 Colorado. Get rid of all my mom's debts. Buy a little place on a beach somewhere, deck it out with a home gym... then I'd fill that garage up with any muscle car that tickles my fancy. All starting with a 1970 Hemicuda. If there's any money left I'll buy supplements... and gas. Lots of gas.
