Ideas for First Date?

Damn in less than 24hours I got a date with this really nice girl - I have no idea where to take her....Im starting to panick. Anybody got any good ideas? no, I am not taking her to the movies, no matter how much I like a girl im not sitting through 2hours of some romantic chick flick!

First off never panic... second you should have asked by now and be aware of the types of things she is into.

What are your ages?

It depends on where you live and what type of things are available to you. Big city, small town etc...

I like that commercial where that guy is driving his date through the junk yard. She is very nervous and is looking like she thinks she is going to get killed or something. Then the crane operator lifts the car they are in with the magnetic dealy, ....They enjoy the sunset from the highlift view. She melts.
Ingenious! Too bad after they make a commercial like that, its one less thing guys can do without being unoriginal.

i wrote an article on getting women a couple months ago. if you know her well, and she isn't timid, an alone date is proper... just you and her. But don't forget to atleast ask her to invite friends, this will show you are sincere. But of course you don't want them to come, and she will most likely not ask. Take her to a movie, ball game, bowling, etc. Those are good first dates. I like going to bars, dog track, etc also.

If she is timid, and you don't know her well, don't be afraid to ask her to get some friends to come. This will help lighten the mood, and she may not be "worried" you are just trying to get some. Alone dates probably aren't going to cut it, and i would suggest bowling/ball game etc, so there is a lot of people around, and she won't be timid. Some women think all guys are abusive and weird, and you don't want her to be afraid of you.

im 19 she is 18

we live in a small town, not much about, some pizza places, cinema, cafes....

You take your dates to the dog track?LOL how does that go? - Anyway she is really special and I could careless about "getting some". I am not gonna make any signs that I want it either. Hell I want a relationship with her, proper. I know she is a little shy, so I'm gonna be the one who has to hold up a conversation - Im gonna talk about her, ask what she likes doing? plans after school? make her laugh etc. Im hoping that when she phones me tomorrow she will have an idea of what we can do, if she asks me im gonna say "I don't care, I just wanna meet you, you choose.....whatever you choose is fine with me" - That sound okay?

No, don't be passive; you're a man, so be a man! Now that doesn't mean being an asshole by any means but be assertive. Figure out what you want to do and show some initiative and just put that idea out there. "I was thinking ______." It's good that you'll be finding out about her, the easiest thing to talk about IMO is the other person really -- most people love to talk about themselves.

If she's really shy you're probably better off getting some of her friends (or mutual friends) together and getting something to eat somewhere -- and from there maybe something else will present itself?

Unless you want to do something specific, if that's the case some pretty good ideas were thrown out already in this thread. Good luck!

I'll see what happends tomorrow. I think it's time to get some sleep soon, get up early and hit the gym before she phones. I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow night when I get back

Well, i took one girl to the dog track, she liked gambling, and we were both of age to bet on dogs. it was a fun date. Just 2 dollar show bets on dogs, not too shabby.

Bump, ya be assertive. Most woman like the guy to take charge. Your best bet is to take her to do something you like to do. If she enjoy's it you know you'll get along great then.

:p I dont want to go out with someone who decides everything for me.. I have a mind of my own.. I can help with decisions..

Why not while talking to her on the phone, ask her what she would like to do.. and it is NOT being passive.. so dont worry about that... if you guys like the same kind of things then doing something you want to do is ok.. but you probably should find out what she likes before hand.. so she is not totally bored... and if she is not interested in what you did.. she will be bored.. and more likely not to go on a second date..

My suggestion would be to go to dinner.. and ask her if there is anything special she would like to do after that... if she says that whatever you would like to do is fine with her.. then great do something you want.. but make sure to ask after a little while if she is ok doing this.. if you can tell she is getting bored.. suggest that you go and do something else..

I think that will end up in the most productive date...but of course it is your date.. so you do what you see to be best..

LOL this is why I was trying get her age... at 16 such things are OK... 36 not always a good option ...

Hey i'm back, but I got a second date later on tonight - she wants to get together again tonight

- things went great this afternoon the first time we met. I asked her what she wanted to do, she said "how about we grab something to eat?" so we did that, I PAYED

. We talked about all sorts, damn things couldnt have gone better, I made no moves, played it cool - when it was time for her to go home, she hugged me and said "I will call you later tonight" - WHO'S THE MAN??? ME!!!
