Default I want to fight Obesity in America.

I really want to start some sort of movement where I hand out flyers and write to big companies and try to put an end to some of the fattening practices of big business.

For example, I work in a bakery, and we have a "cookies for kids" policy.... so every time a little kid wants a cookie, I HAVE to give it to them. The problem is that some of the are so obese... they waddle up like jabba the hut with legs, and with their fat little faces they say in their skewed voice "can i have a cookie please" then they grab two!!!!!!! I don't feel right giving these kids cookies, and I feel like I want to smack the fat parents for teaching (and ALLOWING) such horrible eating habits in their kids.

But hey, it's none of my business if people want to be fat?? RIGHT? I have this fat coworker who is CONSTANTLY shoving food in her fat pie hole... pieces of apple from pies, cookies, funnel cake, etc etc etc... she is so freaking fat, and she always complains about "oh i'm tired i want to go home" "oh my back hurts", and she gets offended when I tell her to stop shoving food in her face! She's all like "It's none of your business if I want to be a big woman" and she starts getting mad when I start preaching about how we live in the fattest country in the world, and here I am giving out cookies to fat little kids... WTF!

Can't we give out carrot sticks instead???

I just feel like I want to educate the american public that they should LOOK IN THE MIRROR, and think before they eat, and to make wiser food choices.... The size of some of the people I see is disgusting. Whenever I see a 500lbs person either waddling around or in one of the electric shopping carts, I think to myself "OMFG wtF is that thing".

We, the American public, need to somehow band together against fast food places and similar poison factories, and terminate the production of over processed garbage.... we need to educate people. Obesity is becoming a very serious epidemic.

and wtf is up with this smiley??

That smiley may be the solution to the problems with fat people...bilemia...

I think people are just to damn lazy and love the taste of food and that's how they want to be.

Most of them are just are never active their whole live and don't like to get into physical activity.

I'm also convinced that part of the obesity problem in the US is the crap that our food is made from too. The food is so overly processed, and the sweetener you find in a lot of sweets is corn syrup. Obviously the human body has problems digesting corn yet we are sweetening everything with it. It doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I spent about a month in Germany this summer and one of the things I noticed is that Germans as a whole are in much better shape than Americans, despite the high beer consumption and all the greasy, fatty food and sweets that are consumed. Of course the sweets are made with real sugar and they walk a lot more than we do. Part of the obesity problem in the US is also that we don't walk anymore and our cities and towns are not laid out so that we can walk most places. The entire American culture is about self-indulgence and making everything "easy."

I applaud you enthusiasm SKE!
That's awesome. Great, post.

But WOW....you working in a bakery...selling processed flour and sugar products to the world.... that HAS to be causing some kind of rift in the Time - Space continuum.

There is just something not right about that!

haha, i know, my job is so ironic. "Hi, I lost 100lbs and I eat a low carb diet, but I work in a bakery giving cookies to fat little children!" LOL...

I'm seriously thinking about buying a domain along the lines of "fightusobesity.org" or something, setting up a charity fund, and trying to get together some kind of printable literature to disperse. For some reason I have this little fire in my gut that wants be some sort of anti fat vigilante.

I can't even get my co-workers to switch from white bread to whole wheat. They don't stand a chance if it ever came to a decision that involved effort on their part.

I am with ya Skelooth!

The crazy thing is, for example, if you tell someone that natural penut butter is better for them than regular peanut butter... They will act like natural peanut butter is the UNnatural one. People go 'YUCK' at the idea of real food! Like real food is some kind of weird science experiment for new age freaks! IDIOTS!!! Real food has been around since the dawn of time and the crap you have been eating is the crazy freakish science experiment!!!

LOL, at "freakish science experiment"

If someone were to look at all the supps I use during contest prep ( all legal, btw ) they would think I was the freakish science experiment!!

But, I'm with you on the real food. Other than that damned cookie dough blast ( spawn of satan ) ..... I try to stick to the real, unprocessed stuff as much as possible.

Yes. Check the ingredients in the other peanut butter. There is a ton of maltodextrin, partially hydrogenated oil, and other crap. Natural peanut butter should only have peanuts and maybe salt.

You shouldn't even consider common peanut butter (Jiff, skippy...) to be real food. If you don't like 'natural' peanut butter, then you don't like peanut butter. The stuff that we call 'natural' peanut butter'is what peanut butter has been ever since it was first created. The stuff you get now is all new from the last century, it has no place in anyones diets. Food companies are making us their bitches. That stuff is NOT safe for human consumption whether the FDA let's the companies sell it or not. I'm sorry to sound preachy, but we should be outraged over the deliciously sudductive poisions that make those companies so rich.

Most of us were raised on processed foods so we don't even know what food used to be like before we were born. We find ourselves rejecting real food because it isn't as tasty as the fake poision we were raised on. How sad.

I hate fat people too.

At least the ones that don't want to do anything about it... Next time she complains about being tired, just explain to her that it's cause she's about to go into a dieabetic coma from all the suger she's eating. That should get her to stfu.

I couldn't agree more. Man I'll be at work drinking a protein shake and my co-workers are all like "Eeewww how can you drink that stuff?" As if any of them have ever tried one or know anything about nutrition.
