Default I think I might be getting Carpal Tunnel

I've already had three surgeries on my right wrist for a volar ganglion cyst, the May of '03, Oct. '03. and Oct. '04.

I have had problems with nerve damage and numbness/tingling before, but this is paired with a stiffness, it's a lot of numbness/tingling in the palm of the hand, joint with the thumb, and through the wrist. It gets irritated by typing, but I work in front of a computer all day.

Any other ideas or should I give my wrist surgeon a buzz and check out what he thinks? I just switched insurance, so I don't want to hit them with a bunch of claims in my first year (I'm getting a procedure done this Sept. on something completely different), or else they'll think I'm a bad risk and give me a huge rateup next year.

So, I doubt I'll do anything about it, but does anyone have any ideas?

It could go away. Is it an option to quit your job and find something else less demaning on the wrists? Some ppl find comfort in the wrist guards or repositioning the keyboard mouse chair etc. ergonomic
get a pt referal from ur doc.

You should be performing stretching to the wrist every hour or 2. 30 reps per wrist. icing for 20 mins. I dont have time now to put up some examples. pt would give u this

well...surgeons love doing surgery. thats how they make there living. u will get a narrow minded view. the procedure is effect but at your age i would consinder other options first. its same day surgery giving radial nerver more room
issurance companies make me sick. the descisions they make about ppls lives r crimminal & thet should be thrown in jail.

I was told mine was a possible nerve or capillary issue. I get cold/numbing in my feet and hands but with yours being only in one hand I guess that wouldn't be it.

This is my career, and the company will be mostly mine within the next 5 years, so changing jobs really isn't an option. I do a lot of stretching and massage on my wrist/hand. It also might just be that I've been pushing it a lot lately, and keep attempting to do pushups, when I know I shouldn't. My right hand only bends backwards about 45 degrees instead of 90 like it should.

I would seek a Physical Therapist referral. I would also find a good sports Ortho discuss options. The surgery is very common. IT manager i know got it done and is really pleased.

Switch mouse hands, that's what I do when I start getting tingling or numbness. Every week change back and forth.
