yes, but then I started playing HoMM and my life has been a blur ever since. It's like the civ games... you start playing and don't realize how fast the time flies.

I just booted into linux where I CAN'T play video games. And I'm going to do my best to stay here for a while. I've accomplished nothing in the past few days. I blame video games

Specificially HoMM5. Man that game is sweet.

I just ordered one of these bad-boys. Should be getting it in a week or so. It'll buy me another year or two on my AGP system before I have to upgrade the whole thing to PCI-e

Best AGP card on the market. Look at the size of that cooler.

Do you think it will ruin my life being able to play Doom 3 and Half Life 2 @ 140+ FPS?

I had to put it in the pci-e below b/c it was so big it got in the way of my DIMMs. I like to call it the caddilac of GPUs

You're going to love your new card man. It's so freaking cool running all your games on max settings, playing them the way they were meant to be played.

hold off just a LITTLE while longer. Some of the nvidia 8800s are already in the low $400 price range. Mine was 350 bucks and it's a 7950

Honestly it's not worth the purchase. Low end GPUs in the mid $100 dollar range are just barely enough to play most games at low settings with poor frame rates. All of the cheap GPUs "support" all of these "cool features", but they don't run them well.

Hey buddy, great minds think alike!

I can get a pretty good CPU on my socket 939, and 4gigs of ram will fit in. The only thing that I couldn't have - before THAT card - was a great gaming video card. And that one is fairly inexpensive to boot! W00t!
