| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | Well, while spending the weekend at my girlfriend's parent's house, we read in the local ad bullentin that they were giving away free collie poodle blue heeler mix. We went out some no name road in the country, until we ran into a trailer that had 2 wild turkey, 6 domesticated ducks, 3 outdoor dogs, 3 indoor ones, 8 puppies, 3 rabbits, a chicken that was only used to make chicks to sell for .50 a piece, a baby cow that was underneath her front porch, and many other things I have never seen before (at a house). Well the puppies were absolutely adorable. They look like a cinnamon colored collie in my opinion. So we got one. She is 8 weeks old and named Jezzabell (my girlfriend picked out the name), the old woman had named all her puppies and named that one "fanny", but that wouldn't do. lol... Hopefully I will have some pictures of her up very soon. I have raised Black Labs, beagles, and a half wolf half german shepherd, but never a collie poodle mix. Any suggestions would be fine. She will be an indoor dog but will play outside a lot in my big back yard and at my girlfriend's parents farm. If you can help thanks, She is very calm, will walk on a leash for us already, and only had 2 accidents in 24 hours inside. So far so good, but did keep me up from 3-6am this morning.

| New Member | Some advice...everytime I have ever had a puppy the easiest was to house break them was to crate them. Put them in a crate durring the night. If you do this they won't go because they don't want to do that stuff where they have to be all the time. It helps to have another dog around to, they learn from eachother believe it or not. The last puppy I had was a miniture schnauzer, we crated him and he was pretty much fully house broken in a few days actually which was pretty impressive. Good luck with the new family member ![]()

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | Thank you! We are having good luck with her now, She had never been inside a house before so she doesn't like to go to the bathroom there. That helps us. Now she has had 1 or 2 mishaps, but other than that she is about 10/12 overall. I will have some pics soon. D

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 94 | Like the others said the box method is a good idea. It was about 3x3'. When mine was a puppy I kept her in it at night and that got her trained well. She soon got too big for the box and would knock it over though, but by that point she was house broken. ![]() |

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | Heh, I will try that... right now it is going good... so far no mistakes in this house. I will start the crate method very soon =) Thanks everyone. Anyone know how much protein is in a jezzabell burger... it sounds like a good option. ![]()
