I must admit that I was disturbed at the images, and thought, why arent we doing more faster? Until I read some news on it which is disturbing. I can see people looting food and water, but TV's, VCR's, and jewelery? The vast majority of people are looting non-essential items. Some are walking around with machettes (sp?) People are shooting each other. Many police have chosen not to get involved and turned in their badges. Women are being raped. People are being robbed. Basically total chaos. The media is showing the worst images they can. I hate to sound like a hard ass, but sadly some are ruining it for others. That being said, the minority that need help and aid Im sickened by the poor job we are doing. Buses not showing up, lack of food, etc.... This pic really bothers me. Reps appreciated.

Just to give the guy the benefit of the doubt...with no clean drinking water around I'd be drinking beers too if that's all I had. :bier: (ok so maybe it sounds a bit far stretched.)

if i was down there id be lollygagging amidst the chaos too. But i dont know how i would be able to hide the loot like a freakin tv.

The first time I watched the video that NNTB posted, because of the actors, I thought it was a joke. After I realized it was serious, Im so insensitive, I burst out laughing, only because Mike Myers looked like he was so uncomfortable when he looked over at him. I think I heard a stat that 40% make less than $8000/year, when I was wondering why people didnt evacuate. Some couldnt even afford too. No car doesnt help. I was thinking, at least the man in the pic has his priorities straight.

I know, booooo, bad joke.

Im torn between the people who need and want help and the people that are just acting like idiots.

I think I know what you mean, it is hard to want to save the life of someone who is clinging desperatly to his/her newly stolen DVD player and plasma television.

I agree, and Im white.

:mask: Kayne is voicing his frustration. They knew the hurricane was coming they could have been more proactive with stuff on stand-by, instead of reactive to the damage. Sure they didnt know the extent before hand of the impending damage, but the could have been better prepared.
