How Can I Tell My Parents About My GF?

I'm 18 and have had girlfriends in the past but I've never told my parents about them because I've been embarassed to. It's gotten to the point where they think I've never had a GF before because I've never told them I've had one.

I don't particularly know why I'm embarassed to tell them but it's just the initial speaking to them really. I wouldn't know what to say. I don't know why it's so hard for me to let them know and it's getting on my nervs because I want to bring my girlfriend round to my house on occasions but I'm embarassed to.

Is there any way to overcome this?

They probably will be relieved that you, in their mind, FINALLY have a gf and you are not gay. So just tell them. Do you have a hard time telling them other things or just this?

IMO, you don't have to say anything unless you get to a more serious point in your relationship. I've never had an actual gf, but I've had plenty of girls over at my house. I've never said anything to them, just walked in, said hi and went to my room. Introductions are overrated.

Are you saying that you just walk into your parents home with a girl and go straight to your bedroom and don't even introduce them to your parents?

I say hi and then take the girl to my room. If she wants to introduce herself she can. My parents have never really cared to know the names of any of the floozies I hang out with. I've always just found it akward to introduce them. My mom asked once and that was when I was with 2 of my guy friends and like 4 or 5 girls. She knew the guys but asked me who the girls were. I said "friends" she asked what their names were and I said "I don't exactly remember" and that was the end of that.

That is freaky to me. I would personally consider that extremely disrespectful to your parents, whether they care or not, and disrespectful to your friends or "floozies" as well, whether they care or not. I have a son and a daughter and they won't be bringing anyone into my house when they are your age unless I know them or they are introduced to me. And, they will never be allowed to take a friend of the opposite sex to their bedrooms under any circumstances. It's all about respect my friend.

Supposidly (sp) by my parents, I can't bring a girl over even if were just friends. I'm not even allowed to date.

After a while, I kinda got used to this and I don't look for a GF in HS...I'm not gay though :p

I just think If I get a good girl and fall in love with her and we go our seperate ways after high school, I'm just gonna be heart-broken. So I'm kinda waiting for college when I'm older and know what I'm going for.

This leaves all the extra time in high school for working out, studying to get into college, and my own hobbies.

I think it's about setting bounderies relevant to the child.
