Default How Can I Pursue My Dream Job?

I am 17 now and passed my GCSE's at school last year. I got 6 C grades (A* being the highest) which let me get into college. Unfortunately I've not been bothered whatsoever with my college studies... I don't even know why I went to college, maybe it's because I thought I would do well in my exams but they are coming up in a week and I know for sure that I will not do well in them - I just haven't put in the time and effort needed.

My dream is to have a job/career to do with fitness and/or bodybuilding etc. Is there any way I can do this with just the GCSE grades I have? I realise I could probably get a better job with some A levels but I would just like to know if I can still get a good job with just my 6 C grades?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks... Pump!

If you are talking about pursuing a career in the Fitness fields like PT or Nutrition Expert or whatever you call them these days, be prepared for hell. If you want to make decent money you gonna need to do some Uni studying for these levels - I once had this same dream, worked my ass off in School got into a pretty well respected University studying Biomechanics, Nutrition, exercise science and some sport managments. It might not be the hardest work but OMG it was the dullest shit I have ever had to witness. You sit there getting taught by some average joe teacher that looks like they never done exercise in their life. After 3-4 hours a week of biomechanics and how the body responds to creatine and all that I had a freaking nervous breakdown, I ended up quitting after 1 1/2 months.

Im probably gonna go back in the autumn and do something is worthwhile like get a Business degree or Computer Graphics.

So what do you do as a job now then... Is it even possible to get a job in this area with just basic secondary school qualifications?

Im layed off, I sit at home watching Cartoons. Im just gonna chill over summer then go back to University it autumn and probably do a degree in Computer Graphics. You dont really need any specific qualifications to become a Personal Trainer, you can take like courses that last 1 month and you get your degree. I however dont believe in them mickey mouse courses and obviously it's gonna look more impressive with a bachelor degree in fitness. I wasn't really planning to become soley a PT, I had goals to become an expert with nutrition and so forth. Now obviously to work in the fields of nutrition you will most likely need a degree.

I think a college degree will help get your foot in the door more places, but you certainly don't need a college degree to be a trainer. You will need to get one or more certifications though, and from what I've heard you should expect some boring bookwork from those too.
