Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 35 | Lots of good deals going around this holiday season. Any recommendations on a good GPS system? Looking preferably for a portable one (not installed) so I can take it in either car or on a business trip... Anyone like Tom Tom over Garmin over other types? Thanks... :geek::geek::geek:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 216 | Garmin has better technology overall in their units as well as a lot better features. I have the Garmin Nuvi 360 and love it. It has a big screen, plays music/audiobooks, and works great even downtown. The Nuvi 500 and higher can play video, have Bluetooth, and more. I don't need the bluetooth because my car has it but still something to consider.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 176 | Go with Garmin. You can't go wrong. Great products, and great customer service... Magellans are pieces of crap, customer service is an absolute joke.. You call, and you get their outsourced customer service from India. I put a SD memory card in the Roadmate 300 so that it can store more than one states info at a time, and it says it needs to be verified by roadmate. I contact them at the # they give, and I get someone from India who has such a thick accent I can hardly understand them. I give them all the info they request, they said OK you will recieve an email within 24 hours with the acces code to punch in which will varify the memory card. never comes, I call back with my case# etc.. they said ok we will make a note on your account etc.. bla bla bla.. nothing, I call back to ask if there is anyone else I can talk to and they said they would leave a message and have them call me.. never heard from them... So the moral of the story is Magellan sucks!!!! |
