Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | This is at the Sam's club near my house... seems like a great system. http://www.impex-fitness.com/proddet...umber=MWB+4360 I don't know if the bar comes off the Smith, though... I hope so. If it did, all I'd need is some adjustable dumbells and I'd be set. How does it look to you guys? |

Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | Basically, I need something with which I can bench (flat, incline, and decline), shoulder press, and squat, but I'd still like to have a preacher curl bench, lat pull down station and maybe some cables. I was thinking about just getting a bench and/or cage with some bars and dumbells, but that's expensive... Basically my price range is about $500. Is it possible to get a bench, rack and olympic weight set for that? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | preacher curl bench, lat pull down station and maybe some cables. that's only cake icing. You can build a fantastic physique w/o them, especially considering one day you can upgrade and get a cable station. Otherwise, all in one units suck AND they are over priced. I have never seen or used an all in one unit that I liked.... and I have worked out at so many gyms at this point it's unreal.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | scour your local ad listings for powerracks. I found one for 125 bucks and snatched it up. :-D You can buy the bars and plates used as well (although I heard to get the bar new, so I did). Shouldn't be to hard :-D

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 114 | as a side note, Sam's Club carries a great brand of protein bar. "Premier Nutrition" brand is great. less than 1.00 per bar too.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | I agree with an individual component setup; you always compromise when you go with a combination unit. Of course space is also a consideration but that unit looks like it has a pretty big footprint. |

Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | Alright, so I found all of this stuff at http://www.newyorkbarbells.tv/ Power Rack: $300 ![]() Bench: $240 ![]() Leg Curl Attachment: $38 ![]() Olympic Weight Set (1000lb bar, 2x45, 2x35, 2x25, 2x10, 4x5, 2x2.5): $130 ![]() Olympic E Z Bar w/ Collars: $30 ![]() Grand Total: $738 plus freight Good deal? I think so... except for the bench. $290 for a bench with a leg curl attachment seems like such a ripoff... anything better? And also, are E Z bars better when the grips are perpindicular to the rest of the bar, so execution is similar to hammer curls? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 31 | Can't offer any insight on prices since I'm in a different country but yeah the price of that bench does seem pretty high. I also think I'd take a pair of Oly DB handles over an EZ bar.

Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | Whoa, found a way cheaper bench that comes with a leg curl attachment and even a preacher curl attachment (probably wouldn't use the curl bar though) http://www.bayoufitness.com/Detail.bok?no=67 $150 ![]() Grand Total is now $610... much better. |

Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | Alright I've re-thunk it a little... and dumbells are definiately the better choice. So far I have: Power Rack: $300 Bench: $150 Weight Set: $130 And this dumbell set that comes with a standard bar (top one in pic): $50 At $630, I'd say this makes for a pretty damn good home gym... see anything that could be cheaper, or anything else I should get? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | I think that last list of equipment is far superior to what you would have had with the original machine you were looking at. Good luck dude. |
