| Incognito | Okay, so I've been looking at LCD's for quite a while now and want to make a purchase. Not sure on size yet as it will go into our office where we spend the majority of our time it seems. I'm thinking 27 or 32 inch. One of the things I've heard/learned is that the glass is probably 80-90% of the quality in terms of the overall performance. I hear there are only 7 manufactuerer's in the world for all brands that use the Grade A glass. Is this true? I know resolution is important, what's a good res in terms of lines? HDMI input. Right now I don't have a need for this, is it that important? HD built in tuner(s). I would want this option. How important is dual tuners? Anything else you guys can help with? The wall mounts see pretty expensive as well, is there a generic place to get these that fit by size of screen? Or is this rigged to fit the brand itself so you are forced to py the ridiculous price? thanks |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 52 | If your looking for a sharp picture, that will last you the longest lcd is the best choice. Now in terms of resoloution, most lcd tv's.. if they are HD-Compatible.. will be running at 1080i, with a refresh rate beyound anything you have experianced thus far. The highest refresh right now is sxrd, which doubles the lines so that whilst one is running the other is refreshing constantly, and etc... It provides a deep deep black and a light light white. These tv's will last you a little over 70 000-80 000 hours before burning out. HDMI, your gunna want that, if your forking out the money for a 30+ size tv, you may as well spend the extra lil bit if any to get an HDTV.. trust me you will love it, and it will be well worth it down the road.. DO NOT BUY A EDTV... i cannot stress this enough!! They are worthless pieces of crap. They usally run at or very close to the cost of one with an HDMI output. Even if you dont use it, its good to keep cuz incase u want it in the future.. ur future ready. HD Built in Tuners, these are a great feature.. as for dual tuners, i dont know about that. Hope this info helps.. i know alot about tv's and hdmi and such for reasons of interest and priveous work experiance.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | the glass is a part of it, but its mostly refresh rate, pixels and the difference of the blackest black to the whitest white (forget the name atm)

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 299 | Don't skimp on size, your already forking over a decent amount of money you may as well go as big as you can for you budget. I'd go 42 if you have the money but I won a 26 inch Aquos and while it's nice it's pretty small unless your in a tiny room. HDMI comes standard with most of the higher quality TV's but it's your choice to use it or one of lesser quality connections. I'm using component just because I don't have HDTV and it's just fine for the size of screen I'm using. The rest I think was covered pretty well. ![]() |

| Incognito | thanks guys, well I just got a call from the wife. she was delievering some stuff and had to go to Office Max. Well, they had a 37" LCD there normally $1099 on sale for $699. I told her to get one and we'll give it a shot. I can take it back within 14 days if I don't like it, no questions asked. I hate these pressure decisions, sight unseen. lol, hope it was a good choice, repacking sucks ![]() |

The brand is a VIORE. Never heard of it, but the picture is amazing. It's right over my monitor in our office as I type this watching Wedding Crashers in HD ![]() I gotta say so far it rocks especially for $699. Yea Heywood, they wanted $79.99 for the HDMI cables, thank Godshe didn't buy those. I have a set of Monster RCA cables hooked up and they do a pretty nice job. Next project is hooking my VidCard in and playing some Delta Force on it to see how it does ![]() | |

I bought monster component.. and playing 360 with the component looks awsome.. nhl07.. like nothing seen yet.. its amazing.
