Ending a "Long Term" Relationship.

I've had this girlfriend I was with for 10 months. We started having problems getting along this past month, but things started looking better until around Friday. She went someplace with a bunch of kids from school (skiclub), when she didn't have to. I asked if she wanted to go out on a date instead and she refused. Well, Saturday she handed her # out to a bunch of guys at drills (She is in the National Guard). I went to her house Sunday, and everything seemed fine, we talked about us not getting along recently. I didn't know she handed her # out at this time. Well, her parents had me go home early so she could do some stuff around the house, and when I got home my battery died on my cell so she coulden't talk to me right away. I started calling her a 8pm, and finally I called her Dad's cell, and I talked to her for a sec.

She told me she was on the phone with a friend, I asked her who it was, and she said Tyler and then hung up on me. So, I went down to her house and she said she wanted to take a break for awhile. I tried calling her a couple times on Monday, and she woulden't answer and finally her mom answered and woulden't let me talk to her.

So, I left a message on her phone (Because she woulden't answer, and didn't want to see me) telling her I didn't think we should date anymore. I would have much rather told her this in person, but she didn't want to meet w/ me.

My friend called me up and told me that her sis called him, and said she was planning on hooking up with Tyler right before I called to break up w/ her. I'm glad I ended it before she got the chance to, but its hard to get over...

Cliffnotes: My girlfriend called another guy, and talked to him on the phone for over an hour, and I found out she wanted to hook up with him, so I dumped her.

Wow strong denial... Sounds to me like you got dumped....lol

It is funny to see 10 months refered to as "long term relationship" but we are all young once.

Anyway don't sweat it bro, it only hurts for a little while. In this case since she is seems to be totaly uninterested in getting back together, jump right back on the horse, and don't look back. Don't sit there wallowing in self pity, cause it is the worst thing to do, and will only drag out the time you need to get over her...

I'm not real upset about it, but its just that she was a big part of my life, and now I have almost nothing to do, lol.

I hear ya... all I can say is learn from this experience bro.. Don't make a girl your life. (we have all made this mistake) Do a lot of stuff without her, keep hanging out with your friends. etc. this will serve a few purposes. 1 it will make her want your time, 2. you will have some independence so that if you break up you only lose a part of your life, and not the whole thing.

Young girls are stupid and fickle, don't bother getting serious with them until they are over 25. I wish I learned that lesson much earlier but better late then never.

Yeah, we started dating when i was 18 and she was 17 and just broke up a few weeks ago. Its weird, I have to redefine myself as a person without having her around.

You can look at the gloom, and doom side of it, the I miss her, bla bla bla crap, or look at it as an exiting time with limitless possibilities, and new advetures.... You will look back in a few years, and probably be glad you were not with her anymore....

It is funny, but in my experience the best way to make a relationship last is to, not make it such a high priority.
