Default Driving from NY to Florida help prz. (I-95 question)

The directions from one disney site say the following:

New York, NY: I-95 South to I-4 West to Walt Disney World Exits .

However google maps (and map quest) seem to say it is VERY complicated. Google maps is telling me to take many different roads and exits.

Has anyone driven this route before that can lend some advice? I'd like to believe it's as easy as taking the i-95/jersey turnpike exit off the throughway and driving for 15 hours.

If you can get a plane ticket for <$130 (one way), that would be much faster and cost the same.

* Trip is ~1,100 mi. Your car prolly gets 25 mi/gal. A gal of gas = $3.
Southwest regularly has tickets for about that.

In fact, I have to cancel that exact trip from Philly to Orlando and will have 4 round trip tickets I'll be trying to get rid of... not sure if I'll be able to fence them for next week tho...

Either way, I'd check to be sure they fixed I-95 near Philly or plan your alternate route... it was closed due to a big-ass crack (big ass-crack? lol...) earlier in the week.

The car is a 2005 and gets 30mpg, and plane tickets are going for $400 per person, which is why we decided to drive It will be less than half the price to drive. You gotta remember it's easter weekend, and I tried to book plane tickets back in the end of January, they were already that high.

Where are you that gas is only $3 a gallon? I pay around $3.80 here in albany.
Despite all of google map's crying, I'm starting to believe it really is just a straight shot down i-95 beginning from the new jersey turnpike. Hopefully I'm right or it's going to be an extra long vacation

$3.80! Damn... $3.05 down the street, I expect to see $2.99 out in Flemington tomorrow, or at least up near Hackensack next week when I'm up that way.

I've seen $3.12 and $3.19 around tho...

Yeah, I'd just take I-95 down (it turns into other routes like 395 and crap like that) on down to I-4. I never drove it personally, but I mapped it out a couple of years ago complete with a second set of areal maps just to see the terrain from above...

Have a great trip you two...

Actually if he takes the Jersey turnpike all the way down, he can avoid Philly. But ya, once the turnpike gets you back on 95 it's as simple as taking 95 all the way to Florida.
