Cool A discussion on marriage.

Sorry if this should be in another thread, if this is the case, you can move it.

Before I left the murky waters of BB.com, there was a thread about whether or not to get married. The thread starter was asking who all was planning on being single all their life.

Well, personally I would be much happier single forever, no I'm not gay, and I have had quite a few hotties, so I don't guess I'm too ugly/flat (no personality), but I just don't see myself getting married in America. I mean, come on, face it, divorce rates are raising, and in modern days, neither the man nor woman can be trusted much to be faithful. I don't want to risk giving someone my love who will go behind my back and **** some fruit. There's also more reasons but I don't feel like typing them right now as it is nearing 3:00 AM here.

So, lets have a discussion about this. What are your thoughts/plans?

Well I was married the first time for 14 years... and because of some really bad things.. I left and we got a divorce... I had no plans of getting re-married.. but I met someone who is wonderful.. caring... very loving.. and supportive... so I am married again.. for over a year this time.. it has had its ups and downs.. just like any relationship.. but we always talk through our problems.. and always seem to find a way through them...

About being trusted and faithful.. I think there are still people out there who think both of these things are very important.. and I think you need to work to find that person who fits you in every way.. has the same feelings you do about being faithful and trusting one another.. my husband is in a field that the divorce rate is outrageously high... but I have trust and faith in my husband that he would not do that to me.. he knows what I would do if he ever did.. and I know what he would do if I ever did... and that is leave.. without a doubt.. that is a deal breaker for both of us.. and we both know it.. it is important to be able to talk about these kind of things..

I just think that if you can find that person that you are soul mates with.. why not step out and take that chance.. because in the end it will be worth it.. at least I think so.. even though one marriage ended in shambles.. I still took the chance that this marriage will be the one that last forever..

ive said i will never marry for the longest time but i think that i will never activly look for someone to marry. if something should happen to come to me and things work out, sure ill think about it. but until then i do not plan on getting married, to many things i want to do and that just gets in the way.

Of course I am young, but for the longest time, I never thought I could find someone to like my humor and my hobbies. (hunting, fishing, lifting, bodybuilding, the outdoors, boating/canoeing, etc). The girl I am with now is the girl I always looked for. I am sure she is the one. We are just taking it slow. We enjoy a variety of things. Plus, who do you know that can deadlift 205 x 6, and go to the arnold classic and be asked to do a photoshoot? Not too bad I guess.

I also think that with that attitude you will be missing out on something that is great. You are denying it before it even happens to you so you will never know. Life is full of ups and downs --- no reason to think it will be more downs for you, but with that attitude, most likely you wouldn't be happy in a marriage.
I'm happy - there are days I say I would never never marry again -- but there is no way I could see myslelf being single the rest of my life -- I see our single friends right now and I know they wish they were in our shoes.....(they have said that)

In 20 yrs there have been times I wondered why I got married so early and why I ever did it in the first place ... but I was mostly just being a dick about things and very self centered in my actions.

The truth is I am happy to be married to the woman of my dreams and for some reason she still feels the same way about me. Even after all I have done which simply says more about the type of woman she is.

I've always felt that a serious relationship should be with someone who compliments your life and doesn't complicate it. As of right now, I don't think I've run into that girl yet. I've dated dozens of girls (including one for 3 years) and havn't felt comfortable enough to actually begin considering marraige. I am rather young, but I feel like committment is definitely an issue in my life. Granted, if the right girl ever came along I'd have no problem with committing. Perhaps I'm just too picky at such a young age....?

Great analysis of of compliment and complicate that is the thing. Most people feel you have to be dating someone 100% of the time, and that is not complementing your life if it isn't the right person, that is doing the opposite.

I would suggest you remain picky for now.... but at 30 and then again at 40 your standards are going to need a re-check

Hey Trick... my wife did 4 photoshoots at the Arnold Classic... nana nana boo boo...

Just kidding of course Trick .. that's awesome, and I'm glad you guys are so great together!

I absolutely LOVE marriage. I'm happier now than I have ever been.

Kendra and I have been together since 1999, so it's not like this is a new thing and the honeymoon will soon be over.

It's all about finding the right partner.

I feel that the two of us can do anything, and together our lives will only get better, year after year.. just as they have since we first met.
