Hey all. We are in the market for a new digital camera. Ours is getting old and the quality sucksazz compared to todays new standards. I would like your input on models to look at. Please provide a link if possible. Here's the criteria we are looking for:

1. Small/Lightweight
2. 5 megapixel or better
3. Optical and digital zoom
4. Media should be able to utilize compact flash memory i.e. Sandisk
5. Easy to use software, don't need picture editing tools etc. Want a plug and play system.
6. Price - $200-300 range

Thanks for any help. :bigthumbu

I just got an Olympus FE-115. It garnered some very good reviews. It takes superb pictures. It is a 5MP model, with enough onboard memory to take about 20-25 HQ pictures with. Of course it has a slot where you can put in some flash memory. It is incredibly cheap, you can probably pick it up for only $120. It is plastic tough... More than good enough for me though.

I just bought the Samsung Digimax S500 camera and I like it a lot. 5.1 mp with optical zoom and tons of great features. Takes great video too. It doesn't take compact flash though, but it is cheap enough that you'll have money left over to buy a good SD card. It's under $200.00. The software that comes with it is also fantastic, allowing you to edit together movies, make titles for movies, add effects... all kinds of cool stuff. I haven't even played with all of it yet.
