Everytime I shut down my computer and try to turn it back on nothing happens. I keep pressing the button and still nothing. I figured maybe it was tripping the surge (even though all of the other apps on it function fine) so I plugged it directly into the wall; still nothing. I don't know what the **** is going on and it's pissing me off.

The only way I can get it on is by flipping the surge on/off.

doesnt work in wall, and works when flipping the on/off on the surge suppressor? that definitely sounds wierd and funny.

if it works, leave it alone... or fix it if you have too...

could be anything from a faulty switch to a failing power supply. i will assume its atx based...

uhhh, what would the form factor have anything to do with the power supply? Sounds like a bad cord or connection somewhere.

have you visually inspected both ends of the cord, and both the male and female plugs, zeke?

Well I've checked their connection. I don't really know what else to look for, no dirt on them. I think it might be a capacitor problem.

i thought about how that had nothing to do with it, so i continued to put it in and see if someone would pick it up...

but...

since on an atx style, unlike the at form, when pushing the power button, the wire goes to the board verses direct to the power supply - that being said one of the wires from the button can be faulty to the board...

This is getting worse. I didn't want to shut off my comp so I left it on standby. I came back from the gym and the ****ing thing was off. Took me forever to get the bitch started.

When I flip the on/off switch on the surge I can hear the comp's motor rev up but if I don't press the power button immediately it doesn't turn on.

I have 2 surges and I tried it with the other, but it didn't work. Only works with surge 1.

I'm with mr_min, its gotta be the PSU. What are the specs of your system and PSU, and how long have you had it?

If you didnt, do that and if problems, PSU or wires associated with that, hopefully...
