| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | http://www.cnn.com/ If you haven't heard about it you have been under a rock. In Tallmansville in Upshur County West Virginia (near Elkins, Clarksburg) a mine explosion has led to 12 fatalities and 1 lone survivor. The blast happened at 630 am on Monday, and after 40 long hours they finally reach the lone survivor who is in critical condition. The big thing is the fact that early this morning 500 people were gathered in a church when news came that 12 of the 13 miners were in fact alive and in great shape. The people of the church were rejoicing. 3 hours later word comes back to them that all of which were dead, except one. As a West Virginian and historian of our states history, I am absolutely outraged. I don't get sad too often, but when I heard a man talking this morning on CNN about the situation and how he knew the miners I had tears coming down. I can't believe that the rumor was allowed to get out, and that it took 3 hours to disprove the rumor. THis is another black eye for the state. I have been mad all morning and will be mad all day. Please keep the families of lost love ones in your thoughts.

| Amateur | Truly a very sad situation. I was unaware of the rumor but I did know that the miners were trapped and all died, except one. ![]() |
