Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 8 | MY RANT(if you care to read.) i want out of my job so damn bad!!! ive been here for 11 years now and i have grown to hate it more everyday. my boss used to be the greatest guy in the world until about 5 years ago we made him a friggin millioniare and everything changed, now he cares about no one but himself and his son that i work with also. if you care to know i started here(dealership) 11 years ago washing cars then i started in the parts department from there i went to service now i have been the new car manager here for the last 5 years. now all i hear about is how hard things are from my boss who lives in a 600,000 dollar house on a lake and has a summer lodge up in wisconsin on a lake. ANYWAY i want to change my job situation but its hard for a guy who has no schooling. i basically started here just out of highschool and i couldnt afford a car and schol at the same time. the thing is i would do any job if i could, ever run a jackhammer all day long if i could, just get me out of here!!!! im leaving out a ton of reasons why i hate my job, but trust me this guy cares for no one but himself anymore, and he is now a very crooked man. WOW . i feel a ton better now that i got that off my chest!!!

I would just be looking as much as you can for another job, start sending out your resume to possible employers... you might be surprised how quick you can get things changed... hope it all works out the way you want.. I will be thinking about you.. ![]()

After I got out of the service I took full advantage of my GI bill money, went back to university until the money ran out. I went to work for someone else for about 8 years while I went through my machinists apprenticeship. I got my papers and went to work for another company that could further my career, I got my master tool and die maker certification. I now own my own business making moulds and dies for all of the major oil companys and I am also contractor for Uncle Sam. I don't think that I could work for someone else now, they'd piss me off and I'd tell them to go shit in their hat! Good luck, ROB

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | If you don't have any children and depending on how finances are, this may be your chance to get out while you can. Maybe take a less paying job , try new things... you never know how luck can change and what could happen. Never know till you try. Does your wife make enough money to help out? Would she support you if you quit? You would probably be happier if you just up'ed and quit - then you would be forced to do something different, instead of waiting around for something --- are you out looking, or waiting for something to come to you? What other things are you interested in - do you have your resume out there? wow, thats a lot of questions!! lol

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 299 | Nick you should be able to use your current position to be able to find a similar one with another dealership possibly for more money and better benifits. Why not look around? If you make the move and find it's just the job in general you hate, go to a tech or trade school and get a new career. It may sound tough but at your age without a wife and kids tying you down it will be a lot easier then down the road. You can get a degree in most things in 1 or 2 years. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | Your experience makes up for any lack of education. and you don't have to stick with selling cars. If your good at sales, maybe consider doing it in an unrelated field. On the other hand, this could be your chance to open your own gym. ![]() |
