Blood Diamond

I'm normally not a fan of Leonardo DiCapprio (sp?), but I think he did a great job in this movie. It's a serious movie that has to do with the illegal diamond trade in Africa. L.D. plays an illegal diamond smuggler/trader. There is also plenty of action in this movie. Worth a watch IMO.

Has anyone else seen it?

I saw it about a month ago, it probably ranks up there as one of the best movies I've seen. I was expecting a "documentary" type feel, but the movie was action-packed and very exciting. The "this is real" element made it something special that you will remember.

I couldn't agree more. I wasn't expecting that much action either, but the movie both educated and entertained. I'd recommend it to anyone.

It's a very good movie. I've been impressed with Dicaprio's last few roles. It was hard to get the Titanic Dicaprio out of my head but he was great in the Aviator, the Departed, and Blood Diamond (feel like I'm missing another...). Anyway, it's a great flick.

Yeah, Titanic made me hate him, but he's really become a good actor and his last several movies have been great. (no G&N) <----- necessary when talking about Leo IMO

I loved it. I saw it when it first came out in theaters. I wasn't expecting much, but it ended up being probably my favorite film of 2006. It kicks some major ass.

Watch it in that link I gave for free, and if you don't like it you can stop the movie. It's really worth it IMO (serious).

Just watched it a couple of days ago. Not great, but very good.

I agree that L.D. gave a good performance.

The violence was very intense. Bothers me to know that this kind of thing is really going on in that country.
