As ours will be in theres. Hence my assumption that it's another cold war brewing.

The unfortunate thing is that a cold war with china could be very good for us, or very bad. A cold war is basically an economic war, and we all know how china's economy is doing right now compared to ours.

I think it's unlikely that a full on war between the US and china would occur. As aggressive as china seems I'm sure they understand how badly the world would be scarred if a war of that scale with our current technologies was unleashed. ... well, let's hope anyway.

way i see it...
cold war = further tensions
further tensions = phyical war
not always how it goes but the cold war with the soviet union and the u.s ended without phyical fighting so if it does happen in this case lets all hope for the same

I think cold wars are going to be how wars are conducted amongst super powers in the future. The cold war collapsed russia's economy to the point where it basically imploded. I think they'd be better described as economic wars.

And just because they are only economic doesn't mean people won't suffer... if not worse...

Chinas economy is doing well because they are breaking the laws on a major scale. The government turns a blind eye towards companies that counterfit.

For example a US company spends tons of man hours, and hundreds of millions of dollars developing a product, the Chinese buy a few, take them apart figure out how they work, copy them and them have them made in their factories for dirt cheap using cheap materials, and cheap labor.

They are master counterfiters. China only allows 40 imported movies a year into the country which encourages counterfiting.. 90% of the DVDs, and CDs in China are pirated.

They use banned insecticides when growing crops that are going to be sent to the US because it is cheap even though it's not safe.

The powers that be better wake the hell up, and realize that an economic war has already been waged on them by China.

A serious crackdown needs to take place on Chinas illegal trading activities.

Not to mention they artificial raise the value of their money to underhand trade with other countries.

China, N. Korea, the Middle east, parts of South America, and the majority of Africa are all ticking time bombs.

China is using every underhand practice in the world to not only increase it's economy at an alarming rate, but to damge Americas economy.

Something needs to be put inplace to make dealing with China less attractive to American companies.. A tax put in place on items made in China. It's already impossible for US manufacturers to compete with China due to higher labor costs. So to stay competitive companies are forced to either buy from China, or move their Comapany to China.. Neither are a good thing for the US economy...

Not to mention alot of the stuff they manufacture is garbage..

China has a bubble economy though. and we all know what happens to bubbles eventually....

China has been working on using lasers to disrupt our satellites. Their military stategy with us is to disrupt our information pipeline to delay our actions so that they can acheive victory with few if any casualties. We may see them use this strategy to retake Taiwan in the near future. If they can take the island before we have a chance to get our fleet in the area, they'll bet we won't risk a full scale invasion on the island we want to protect.

I don't think it will be the end for China since they have the manpower and military capacity to hold back whatever the world throws at them. The scary part will be the subsequent military build-up in the rest of the Far East. The US isn't foolish enough to engage China head on if they can take the island without us getting aid first. But Japan has to be pretty scared these days with North Korea possessing missles capable of striking them and then with China finally getting their goal of a unified China. Probably only a matter of time before Japan says screw it and re-establishes their own military.

This is still communism versus capitalism and socialism. China is the last communistic strong hold. As history shows it will eventually fall, but not until after something drastic.
