7.1 channel surround sound is f**king amazing

Just set it up properly again after I moved. 6 floorstanders, centre and sub. Tiny room at the moment until I make some modifications, but 7.1 is friggin' awesome.

HELL YA!! I only have 6.1 but I still love it! Wish I didn't live in a town house with neighbours attached or I'd be :rock:

I have 5.1 on my comp, it's pretty nice. 7.1 must be amazing.

A lot of people I know buy little lifestyle systems with sattelite speakers, otherwise they set up surround sound with floorstanders at the front and bookshelves at the rear. I've gone 7.1 with floorstanders all round, and my loungeroom is only big enough for 5.1. But as soon as the lounge is made bigger, 7.1 will rule.

Get some manly speakers and you dont need 7.1

I have Polk RTi10 for the front FXi5 for rear CSi5 Center All being pushed by big daddy Harmon Kardon AVR710. Oh ya got all the Fatty wires too.

Oh you say subwoofer I have 2 PSW10, I wanted even bass.

Just upgraded the speakers slightly - Whatmough Monitors floorstanders all round, Whatmough Monitors centre, only a JBL ES150 sub and running through an Onkyo TXSR602 - pretty standard stuff. Got the amp right before I started making big bucks - otherwise I would have held out for another year and got a Yamaha RXV2600, or something in Harmon Kardon. Running a Yamaha CD and a Yamaha DVD player into a JVC LCD screen - all connected with Monster Cable.
Quite happy to run manly speakers in a 5.1 format - but 7.1, although extended, always sounds better to me.
